Capacity Building Workshop: For Waste Management and Sustainable Future

August 9th, 2023

Dr Irfan Ahmed Khan, director of Synercon Engineering, held a successful capacity-building workshop Physical and Cultural Resource Management Plan (PCRMP) sponsored by the World Bank (WB) in collaboration with the Project Management Unit (PMU) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Integrated Tourism Development (KITE). The purpose of the workshop was in line with the objectives of KITE, which include the promotion and development of both culture and religious tourism in Pakistan by reclaiming the degenerating archaeological treasures of the country.

KITE has been a major initiative by the WB aimed at actively revamping the entire landscape of archeological sites in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Pakistan. Physical and Cultural Resource Management Plan (PCRMP) are crucial components of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Integrated Tourism Development Project. PCRMPs are the premium guides outlining mitigation measures that must be implemented to reduce anticipated adverse impacts during the pre-construction, construction, and operation phases of the proposed subprojects. The training aimed to accelerate capacity building regarding the implementation and inclusion of PCRMP in bidding processes.
